The fifth issue of Nesir: Journal of Literary Studies, published in October 2023, features a special dossier titled “The Republic of Literature, Republican Literature,” comprising four original articles and one translated article. In addition to the dossier, the issue includes four independent original articles, two translated articles, one research note, three book reviews, and one document publication. Without reducing the concept of “Republic” solely to the Turkish context, this issue engages with it comparatively across different geographies and periods. Through contributions addressing topics such as language policy, narrative and secularization, and nation-building, the issue aims to shed light on the multifaceted relationship between the concept and literature.
