Nesir: Journal of Literary Studies upholds ethical integrity at every stage of the publication process and treats any potential ethical violations with utmost seriousness. The journal adopts the principles published by COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) and bases its approach to handling ethical breaches on these standards.

  • Plagiarism: Failure to properly acknowledge quotations and ideas taken from other sources.
  • Data Fabrication or Falsification: Inventing research findings or manipulating existing data in a misleading way.

Investigation Process

If an ethical violation is suspected, the editorial board follows these steps:

  • Preliminary Review: Editors evaluate the complaint or suspicion and decide whether to initiate an investigation.
  • Official Notification: The author(s) concerned are formally informed in writing. A written explanation is requested.
  • Consultation: If needed, expert advice is sought from ethics committees or in line with COPE guidelines.
  • Final Decision: The editorial board determines necessary corrective actions based on the collected information and explanations.

Corrective Actions

Depending on the severity of the violation, the following measures may be applied:

  • Requesting revision or issuing a warning letter.
  • Retraction or correction of the published article.
  • Refusing to consider new submissions from the author(s) for a specified period.
  • Issuing an official notification to the author’s institution.
