Ethics Approval and Research Involving Humans or Animals

Nesir: Journal of Literary Studies requires that ethical principles be strictly observed and that the necessary approvals be obtained for all studies involving human or animal participation. This policy aims to protect both the fundamental rights of research participants and the scientific responsibility of the work.

Ethics Committee Approval

  • For any research involving human participants or animal experiments, an official approval certificate from a competent Ethics Committee is mandatory.
  • The name of the ethics committee, the approval number, and the date must be clearly indicated in the Acknowledgments section at the end of the article.

Research Involving Human Participants

  • Informed consent from participants must be obtained and explicitly stated in the manuscript.
  • Participant privacy must be respected; no personal data should be shared, and anonymization methods should be applied when necessary.
  • For research involving vulnerable groups such as minors or individuals with cognitive impairments, both individual consent and consent from a legal guardian are required.

Animal Experiments

  • For any research involving animals, ethics approval from the relevant animal ethics committee must be provided.
  • Such studies must prioritize animal welfare, employing methods that minimize pain, stress, and discomfort.
  • Authors must clearly declare that the study was conducted in accordance with national and international animal welfare regulations.

Lack of Ethical Declaration

  • If an article requires ethics approval but no such information is provided, the manuscript will not be considered for review.
  • In cases of doubt, the editorial board will conduct an assessment following COPE guidelines and initiate any necessary corrective measures.
