Abstract

The independent development of the fields of History and Ottoman/Turkish literature in terms of the sources, methodologies, and subjects has been criticized for a long time. The studies of İsmail E. Erünsal in the form of dissertation, presentation, and article are remarkable and prominent in the sense that he merged these two fields as early as the 70s. These publications were compiled by Hatice Aynur first to be published by Dergah Publishing House in 2016. Now in January 2024, the revised and extended second edition of this book is presented to the academic community. In this edition, there are four new articles under the section of ‘’Archival Records as Sources of the Literary History,’’ therefore the number of articles has increased from 22 to 26. In this way, the book compiles a corpus of articles both for the new students of the literature and history fields and also for the senior academics.
